Czechs Online respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. This policy explains how copyright or other intellectual property complaints may be submitted and how they may be handled.

1. Scope

This policy applies to complaints alleging that content available through Czechs Online infringes copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights.

2. How to submit a complaint

A complaint should be sent to the designated legal or rights contact published by the platform. Until a separate dedicated address is created, complaints may be sent to email.

The live site should ideally add a dedicated address such as email or email.

3. Information that a complaint should include

  • the complainant’s full name and contact details
  • a description of the protected work or right allegedly infringed
  • identification of the content complained about, including the relevant URL or enough information to locate it
  • a statement explaining why the complainant believes the content infringes their rights
  • a statement confirming that the information provided is accurate to the best of the complainant’s knowledge
  • where relevant, proof of ownership, authorization, representation or licence position

If the complaint concerns trademark, impersonation or similar rights rather than copyright, the complainant should explain the exact right being invoked.

4. Review process

  • review the notice
  • request additional information
  • temporarily restrict access to the reported content
  • remove the content where justified
  • notify the affected user where appropriate
  • preserve records for dispute handling, legal compliance or safety purposes

5. Counter-notice or dispute response

If content is restricted or removed following a complaint, the affected user may be given an opportunity, where appropriate, to contest the complaint or explain why the content is lawful or authorized.

Czechs Online is not required to restore content where legal risk, evidentiary uncertainty, repeat infringement or other justified concerns remain unresolved.

6. Repeat infringement and abuse

Users who repeatedly upload or post infringing material may face warnings, content restrictions, account suspension or permanent termination.

False, abusive or bad-faith complaints may also be rejected and may affect future complaint handling where abuse is evident.

7. No formal legal adjudication

Czechs Online does not act as a court and does not guarantee that every rights dispute can be resolved through platform review alone. Parties may need to pursue legal remedies through the competent authorities or courts where appropriate.
