Notice and Action / Illegal Content Reporting Policy

Last updated: 2026-03-08

Effective from: 2026-03-08

We may update this document from time to time. The version published on this page is the version currently in effect unless applicable law requires otherwise.

This policy explains how users, authorities and third parties may report allegedly illegal content or conduct on Czechs Online, and how the platform may respond.

1. Purpose

Czechs Online aims to maintain a lawful and safe environment while respecting user rights, legitimate expression and procedural fairness. This policy should be read together with the Terms of Service and Community Safety Policy.

2. What may be reported

  • hate speech prohibited by law
  • threats of violence or unlawful harassment
  • unlawful disclosure of personal data
  • fraud, scams or deceptive conduct
  • child sexual abuse material or child exploitation content
  • extremist or terrorist content where unlawful
  • unlawful sale or promotion of prohibited goods or services
  • intellectual property infringement
  • other content unlawful under applicable law

3. How to submit a notice

A notice should be sent through the designated reporting channel published on the platform. Until a dedicated reporting route is implemented, reports may be sent to email.

That is not ideal for long-term use. The live site should add a dedicated address such as email or a proper reporting form.

4. Information the notice should contain

  • the reporter’s name and contact details
  • identification of the content or account being reported
  • direct URL or enough information to locate the material
  • a description of why the content is believed to be illegal or prohibited
  • the country or legal context relevant to the report, where helpful
  • supporting evidence where available

Anonymous reports may still be reviewed, especially in urgent safety situations, but incomplete notices may limit what action can be taken.

5. Review and response

  • acknowledge receipt where appropriate
  • request more information
  • assess the credibility and specificity of the notice
  • temporarily restrict visibility or access
  • remove content where justified
  • suspend or limit accounts where justified
  • preserve records for investigation, appeals, safety or legal compliance
  • notify relevant users where appropriate and lawful

6. Urgent situations

Where there is an immediate risk of serious harm, criminal conduct, child safety risk, active fraud or urgent legal exposure, Czechs Online may act without prior notice and may escalate the matter to competent authorities where required or justified.

7. Appeals and objections

Users affected by notice-based action may be permitted, where appropriate, to contest the decision, provide context or submit additional evidence.

Not every decision must be reversed during review, especially where legal or safety risk remains high.

8. Abuse of the reporting system

Knowingly false, malicious, repetitive or abusive notices may be rejected and may lead to limits on future use of the reporting process or other platform action where justified.

9. Relation to law and platform rules

This policy does not replace mandatory legal procedures where specific law imposes formal takedown, disclosure, preservation or reporting obligations. Czechs Online may comply with binding legal requests and mandatory reporting duties as required.
