We may update this document from time to time. The version published on this page is the version currently in effect unless applicable law requires otherwise.

These Terms of Service govern your use of Czechs Online and related services. By accessing or using the platform, you agree to these Terms and the policies referenced in them.

1. Operator of the platform

Czechs Online is operated by KRITEK, s.r.o., registered office Čejkovy 23, 342 01 Hrádek, Czech Republic, Company ID 29108071, VAT ID CZ29108071.

2. Acceptance of the Terms

By accessing the website, creating an account, posting content, purchasing a paid service, or otherwise using Czechs Online, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by the linked legal policies. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Where you purchase a Subscription or another paid digital service, the checkout flow requires confirmation of the Billing Period, automatic Renewal, recurring payment authorization, and immediate access to digital services together with the related consequences for any Withdrawal Right.

3. Eligibility and account responsibility

You must provide accurate information where registration or purchase requires it. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use account-based community features of the Service. Users under the age of 16 are not permitted to register or use these features. If we reasonably believe that an account belongs to a user under 16, we may suspend or terminate the account and remove related content or data, subject to applicable legal obligations. Users aged 16 and 17 may be subject to additional safety, privacy, and feature restrictions designed to protect minors. In practical terms, they can still create and use an account, post content, use community areas, and block or mute other members, but their profile is private by default, direct-contact fields such as phone and website are hidden from public views, map visibility is disabled by default, member discovery is limited to existing contacts, and new private conversations are restricted to existing contacts only.

You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

  • violate applicable law
  • infringe intellectual property or privacy rights
  • harass, threaten or abuse others
  • distribute malware, spam, fraud or deceptive content
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent affiliation
  • interfere with platform security or integrity
  • scrape or misuse the service in a way that breaches law, contract or technical restrictions

More specific behavioural rules are described in the Community Safety Policy.

5. User-generated content

You remain responsible for the content you submit, publish or upload.

Czechs Online uses AI-assisted or AI-generated forum accounts, posts, replies, or prompts to help populate the forum, keep discussions active, and introduce topics that are relevant to the community.

By posting content through the platform, you grant Czechs Online a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt for formatting, distribute and make available that content only to the extent necessary to operate, promote, secure and improve the service.

You represent that you have the rights needed to publish such content.

6. Editorial and AI-assisted content

Czechs Online publishes blog posts, editorial texts, summaries, translations, illustrations, thumbnails, and other site content created in whole or in part with AI assistance.

This may include AI-assisted drafting, rewriting, translation, structure suggestions, research support, or in some cases AI-generated or AI-assisted images. Unless explicitly stated otherwise for a specific item, such material is used as editorial support and is not intended to mean that the relevant content has been published through a fully autonomous process without human involvement.

Czechs Online reserves editorial control over such materials and may review, modify, adapt, curate, correct, combine, or reject them before publication or afterwards.

7. Moderation and enforcement

  • enforce these Terms
  • enforce the Community Safety Policy
  • comply with law or legal requests
  • protect users, the platform or third parties
  • investigate fraud, abuse or security incidents

Enforcement may include warnings, content removal, visibility limitation, temporary suspension or permanent termination depending on severity and recurrence.

8. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the platform design, branding, editorial structure, software components, databases and site content owned by Czechs Online or its licensors are protected by applicable intellectual property law. These Terms do not transfer ownership of our intellectual property to users.

9. Availability of the service

We aim to keep the service available, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Features may change, be suspended, or be discontinued, temporarily or permanently, for operational, legal, security or commercial reasons.

10. Paid services

Some features may require payment, subscription, or a separate commercial agreement.

The applicable checkout flow, billing model, Renewal, Cancellation, Withdrawal Right and refund handling are described at checkout and in the Payments and Refunds Policy.

11. Payment processors

  • some B2C transactions may be processed by Lemon Squeezy, which may act as Merchant of Record
  • some B2B transactions may be processed by Stripe or another designated payment provider

Where a third-party payment provider acts in its own payment role, that provider’s terms may apply in addition to these Terms.

12. Cancellation and account closure

You may stop using the service at any time. Unless expressly stated otherwise for a specific offer, you may cancel a Subscription at any time before its next Renewal. Cancellation stops future Renewal charges only, and your access to the relevant paid features normally continues until the end of the Billing Period already paid for.

Cancellation is separate from any statutory consumer Withdrawal Right. Withdrawal, where available, is governed by mandatory law and by the specific checkout flow used for digital services.

We may suspend or terminate accounts where necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, abuse handling, inactivity management, or material breach of these Terms.

13. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an as available and as is basis.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy of user-generated content, or suitability for a specific purpose unless expressly agreed.

14. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under mandatory law.

Subject to that rule, Czechs Online is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of the service, loss of opportunity, loss of profits, loss of data caused by factors outside reasonable control, or third-party misuse, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

15. Consumer rights

If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence may apply and prevail over conflicting wording in these Terms to the extent required by law.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

Unless mandatory consumer law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic.

Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably should be submitted to the competent courts of the Czech Republic, unless mandatory law gives the user a different protected forum.

17. Changes to the Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time for legitimate reasons, such as legal or regulatory changes, security requirements, service development, operational changes, or updates to how the platform is offered.

Material changes affecting users should be communicated appropriately before they take effect. Changes do not apply retroactively to periods already paid for. If a change specifically affects Subscription pricing or Renewal terms, the more specific rules in the Payments and Refunds Policy apply.

18. Contact

Questions about these Terms may be sent to email or email for legal or privacy-related matters.
