Data Rights and Requests Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-02
Effective from: 2026-04-02
We may update this document from time to time. The version published on this page is the version currently in effect unless applicable law requires otherwise.
This policy explains how users can exercise privacy and data protection rights in relation to Czechs Online.
1. Rights you may have
- obtain confirmation whether we process your personal data
- access personal data and related information
- request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
- request deletion in certain circumstances
- request restriction of processing in certain circumstances
- object to certain processing, especially where based on legitimate interests
- withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
- request portability where applicable
- request review of certain significant automated decisions where law grants that right
2. How to submit a request
Send your request to email.
To help us process your request efficiently, include your name or account identifier, the email address associated with your account if any, the right you want to exercise, and enough detail for us to understand and verify the request.
3. Identity verification
Before fulfilling a request, we may ask for reasonable proof of identity or account control. This is done to protect users against unauthorized disclosure, deletion or account misuse.
We will request only verification proportionate to the sensitivity of the request.
4. Timing
We aim to respond within the time limits required by applicable law. Where GDPR applies, the standard response period is generally one month, subject to lawful extension for complex or numerous requests.
5. Authorized agents
Where local law permits, a request may be submitted by an authorized agent with valid proof of authority. We may still need to verify the underlying user directly where law allows or requires that safeguard.
6. Limits and refusals
We may refuse or limit a request where permitted by law, for example when the request is manifestly unfounded, repetitive, excessive, conflicts with the rights of others, or cannot be fulfilled because legal retention obligations apply.
Where allowed by law, we may charge a reasonable administrative fee for excessive requests.
7. No discrimination
Where prohibited by law, we do not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights.
8. Appeals and complaints
If you disagree with how your request was handled, you may reply to our decision and ask for internal review. You may also contact the competent supervisory authority or regulator where applicable. For Czech-based operations, this is the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, UOOÚ): https://www.uoou.gov.cz.
9. Contact
All rights requests and privacy-related questions should be sent to email.
